Quality Management Processes

Quality management processes are implemented throughout West Control Solutions and as a result it is certified in conforming to the high standards of ISO 9001:2008.

West Control Solutions, as part of the Fortive Corporation, embraces the Fortive Business System (FBS) - widely recognized and respected throughout the world to deliver business success.

The FBS is a simple philosophy which is centred on four customer-facing priorities: Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Innovation. Underlying the FBS principles is true lean methodology; performance is continually monitored and improved in a never-ending cycle.

Continuous Improvement

West Control Solutions uses continuous improvement practises throughout the company to deliver sustainable process improvements, known as, Kaizen. Activities take place in all aspects of the business to review functions and processes and to look for opportunities to improve quality and eliminate waste. To make these as effective as possible, associates at all levels are involved from production staff through to the President.

Lean Manufacturing 

As part of its commitment to delivering products and service of the highest quality West Control Solutions utilizes the lean manufacturing methodology. The main elements of this focus on waste reduction. This results in improved efficiency, lower manufacturing costs and higher levels of quality.

An aspect of the lean manufacturing process adopted by West Control Solutions is “Single Piece Flow” manufacturing. This is a key factor in delivering high quality products as it removes the opportunity for batch errors to arise. With one piece flow manufacturing, errors in the process can be highlighted very quickly, ensuring that a minimum of waste is produced. Furthermore this methodology requires reduced work space for production, therefore reducing overheads and lowering of costs which are passed on to customers.
